Autumn Splendor

Autumn is my FAVORITE time of the year! I love the warm colors, the change, the crispness and coziness of it all! This year, we have enjoyed more color than all the 8 years we've lived here put together - but unfortunately, I never got a picture of the TREES! Here's a few of the things that I LOVE about this time of year...

 Sausage Potato Soup

  Warm autumn scents

The Pumpkin Patch!

CANDY CORN! I love this stuff!
(and I LOVE my Longaberger butternut muffin pan!)

Beautiful hand made accents that never go out of style

Comfort Food - the kind that involves melted chocolate!

Sweaters - the cable knit kind - heavy and cozy.

More comfort food
- the kind that involves cream cheese, bacon and green onions.-
(and my Eggplant Longaberger!)

Homemade soup with Homemade Bread. It just doesn't get much better than that!

It would seem that most of my favorite things about Autumn involve FOOD! It's a wonder I'm not 300lbs!
I've been putting off this post thinking "maybe I'll see something else I'll want to add"...

Doesn't look like that's going to happen!

Wondered when you were going to get around to this post!! Lovely pictures, and maybe it's a good thing it snowed? haha!
The longer we have "autumn weather" then the less I will mind the winter weather! (of course that means LESS of it!)

Cool post. I love autumn too! The fall leaves, pumpkins, soup......I could go on and on.
Seems like winter is here now, so guess I'll have to break out the hot chocolate! :)

hey NishyWishy,

Delightful post about FALL!
The food in looks delish, and we already had supper. I am wondering about the stuffed cream cheesy things....what are they? Think i might enjoy trying those!
The handmade card looks vaguely familiar! And here it is snowing tonight and i never made one Fall card this time. Oh, well, Thanksgiving still works for that eh?

Auntie Gay - the card graces my piano once again this fall - it makes me smile! :)

Oh, and the stuffed cream cheesy things... they make me smile too!
They are Stuffed Mushrooms!
approx 1 package (or less) of mushrooms; washed, dried and with the stems removed so there is a 'cup' inside.
mix 1 pkg of softened cream cheese, 4 or so slices of bacon, cooked and crumbled, approx 2 green onions, chopped and a handful or so of mixed white cheeses. (I like mixing provolone with an Italian mixture.)
You can chop a few mushroom stems and add to the cheese mixture as well, if you REALLY like mushrooms.
Add a few dashes of Ground pepper.

Melt 2T. or so butter in 8x8 baking dish, stuff cheese mixture equally into mushroom caps, bake at 400 for about 20 minutes or until it's sizzling. Serve hot out of the oven.

Now, I'm not a big fan or mushrooms but these, I LOVE!
