Fresh Homemade Bread

Great Grandma 'Cilla is here for a few days while she is helping Sara Starns in this part of the state. (Sara is here too =) ). We were quite delighted when Grandma offered to make us some bread and cinnamon rolls! Kyrie was quite in awe of the whole bread making process and was of course delighted when grandma let her help!

More Cakes!

I've been having fun with cake orders the last few weeks!

First one is a 11x15 (half) sheet cake, half chocolate and half white with almond sugar icing. All decorations except wheat are gumpaste. (wheat is piped with icing.)

This one makes me want to have another baby! Well, for a minute anyway!
For a baby shower today, polka dot theme.11x15 White Almond Sour Cream with Almond Sugar Icing. Onesie, Socks and Polka Dots are made from rolled fondant and Shoes are made from Gumpaste.

400 Servings!

Here's what 400 servings of cake looks like! I just finished these sheet cakes for Jim's work - they are doing a customer appreciation supper tonight.

Carrot cake with cream cheese icing, Chocolate / Yellow cake with Chocolate icing and the rest are Chocolate / White with White Almond icing. 6 cakes total.

We're Alive!

Just in case you have been wondering, we ARE still alive! I have a 400 serving cake order to finish by tomorrow noon, so this will be short and sweet. More detailed update next week!

Yesterday, there was an ad on our local radio stations "buy, sell and trade" morning show, for a Little Tykes 8-in-1 play set, a few years old but in great condition, and a price that was incredible! I called the party selling it, and snatched it right up. Jim took the kids and drove to Ogallala to pick it up yesterday afternoon, and he put it together after work today. The kids are just delighted with it, as am I - it keeps them entertained for hours!!!

Unfortunately, it looks like today was the last nice day for awhile. Oh well, we'll have all summer!

Kids these days....

Have you ever stood on your head to make a kid happy?
I don't think I have, but I've done some pretty silly things to get a giggle!
I had Ryan watch the kids for a little while today while I ran some errands, and when I came home this is what I saw! Uncle Ryan and Kyrie barefoot on the kitchen floor, scrubbing to "it's the hard knock life" and Kyrie telling Uncle Ryan that it had to "shine like the top of the chrystler building"! (yes, she's obsessed with Annie!)
Amazing what a Kid can make you do!!! (and now I have a nice shiny clean kitchen floor!)
